Utilized for serologically incompatible crossmatches and will be directed by the blood bank staff when to order. The specimen needs to be collected after 25 mL of blood has been transfused into the patient. Needs to be drawn by trained hospital associate using a Blood Bank Band and computer functions PPID and PAID. Blood Bank band must be on both the tube used for testing as well as the patient. DC and visible hemolysis check will be performed. Blood Bank will instruct nursing next steps after completion of testing concerning the transfusion of product.
